Restatement of Financial Information under IFRS
The European Union (EU) requires all EU listed companies to prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards ('IFRS') for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 January 2005.
Independent News & Media PLC ('INM') has adopted IFRS with effect from 1 January 2005. The Group's transition date is 1 January 2004 as this is the start date of the earliest period for which full comparative information under IFRS will be presented in INM's 2005 Annual Report and Accounts.
