Dublin, 20 November 2009: Independent News & Media PLC [‘INM’] today announced the appointment of Mr. Declan Carlyle as deputy managing director of Independent Newspapers (Ireland) Ltd [‘INIL’]. Mr Carlyle will report to Mr. Joe Webb, who was recently promoted to chief executive, INM (Ireland). Independent Newspapers encompasses all the activities of the group’s leading titles, the Irish Independent, the Evening Herald, the Sunday Independent and Herald AM. Mr Carlyle will retain his current responsibilities for all strategic human resources matters across the Group.
