Independent News & Media PLC Staff Announcement

Independent News & Media PLC today announced the appointment of Mr Andrew Donagher (50) as Company Secretary.

Mr Donagher - a Certified Public Accountant - has been Group Financial Controller of Independent's Irish operations for the past 5 years, and previously worked as a partner at Somers & Associates.

Mr Donagher replaces Ms Noreen O'Kelly, who will be commencing a new career with the Cantrell & Cochrane Group, after 11 distinguished years with Independent News & Media PLC.

Mr Donagher's appointment as Company Secretary takes affect from February 4th 2002.
