Independent News & Media PLC ("IN&M") has received formal clearance for the purchase of the Belfast Telegraph titles ("BTNL") from Trinity Mirror plc. The consent of Britain's Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Stephen Byers MP, was received today; the clearance of the Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Tanaiste Mary Harney TD, had already been received.
