Board Appointment at Independent News & Media PLC

The Board of Independent News & Media PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gavin O'Reilly as Chief Operating Officer of the Company, with immediate effect. Mr. O'Reilly will also continue in his role as Chief Executive - Ireland.

Mr. O'Reilly was appointed to the Board of the Company in May 1997, and became Chief Executive of the Irish division in January 1999.
